Sean O'Grady Independent (UK) Wittily written by Jack Thorne and Genevieve Barr, with plenty of raucous action, Then Barbara Met Alan is as much a moving love story and wryly amusing sitcom as it is an emotionally charged chronicle of a small revolution. Rated: 5/5 Mar 25, 2022 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) The central performances were excellent (Ruth Madeley and Arthur Hughes), and the lead writer was Jack Thorne (National Treasure, This is England). Together they made for a raucous, eye-opening drama. Apr 1, 2022 Full Review James Walton The Spectator The most obvious flaw was that it never solved the traditional problems that come with writing agitprop: among them, relentlessness, lack of nuance and how to make the audience not feel they’re constantly being shouted at. Joanna B This film is actually great. A lot of the time people tend to infantilise disabled people but this film does a great job of opening the audiences eyes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/08/24 Full Review Read all reviews
