Jack M One of the incredible things about 'They Call It Murder' is that the film could easily pass as an Ellery Queen mystery. With or without the presence of Jim Hutton as the sleuth of the week. As far as made for television movies go, this one has an impressive cast list of actors who would later star in many notable projects about committing crimes and being suspected of murder. (I see you Jessica Walter.) Watching any film of this nature requires an adjustment to our lens for quality. Even without modifying any points for the age, the production type, or the story plot twists, this was still a very well done movie with a neat ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Audience Member I own this on DVD in a two movie pack along with: * Project: Kill (1977) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Boring! Even for early 70s police detective standards. Ed Asner is barely used and Leslie Nelson looks like he was thinking about the fucking new deck he was going to put on his house. He was only focused on the paycheck from this turd and it clearly shows. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This was originally a pilot for a television series that never materialized. It?s pretty ordinary and typical of the television made movies from that time frame. Good cast, and the story is decent, but there is nothing special at all about the movie.
