Rom-com tropes like the ''meet-cute'' are so tired that you can't just spoof them -- you have to spoof the spoofs, which this winking David Wain-Michael Showalter parody mostly succeeds at doing.

The jokes can be specific to a hermetic extreme: I don’t think the gag cutting from an exterior shot of the Strand bookstore to an interior that’s a smaller, different establishment might travel outside NYC, but it’s still a great niche joke...

This review will be more, me gathering my thoughts after, than being helpful... for you, deciding whether to watch it, ok? and sorry. Basically, I laughed out loud about four times- but some of it was disgusting. Ethical question- do people just need to be in full flow, a torrent, to be funny? and a recipient simply must take the rough with the smooth. Pass. I'd hope, it could be a many tiered process and you could edit out the disgusting gags. Annoying. Night.

Absolutely fantastic my favorite go to movie if for any good or bad day. Apology accepted. I freaking can’t get enough of this movie. I can watch it 1 million times and still find it. Absolutely hilarious. I’m so glad I heard about this movie from a Jonas Brothers.

In fairness, I only lasted 10 minutes before I cashed out. This movie is as bad as it gets. Lazy Gen X actors acting intentionally stupid to make 20 year olds laugh. I would rather eat my own barf with a side of Lima beans than watch 5 more minutes if this sad piece of debris.

This is a very strange film. It acts like a parody of the rom com genre, but it follows through all of the tropes without always following through on the joke, making it feel a bit confused. Many of the jokes try to mimic the botched subtlety of British humor, but the American style of humor this film follows does not compliment the British style of comedy, making this a fun, but not too memorable film.
