Meri S @mschroeder Dec 15 It’s a slow movie with a big message of human connection and friendship. I liked the slowness of this movie; it fits. Nothing too over dramatic. Just a sweet and easy story. See more Adam Z Jun 8 Effectively, a very bad Richard Curtiss film, but by someone else. Half a star because they managed to point the camera in the right direction. Perhaps it would work better with the sound turned off and the audience making up their own story to the pictures? I even looked up to see if the director or producer did Amelie in 2001. The style of music to the zoomed in photography were Trademark of Amelie. Also in Amelie it was her mom & dad that had obsessive neatness. And the hairstyle; the ”bob” of the young girl, etc. Amelie had a stair bob tho. I think they tried to copy elements of Amelie, but not anywhere as great of a movie as Amelie was. I have the DVD; 📀 seen AMELIE many times. Der Film ist charmant, er spricht bzw. er spricht mich unmittelbar menschlich an. Die als Narrativ eingeschobenen Textpassagen überzeugen vor allem gegen Ende durch eine hohe sprachliche Qualität. Einen gewissen Mangel in der Geschichte erkenne ich allerdings in den offenen Enden: Der Witwer mit den Zwillingsmädchen bleibt in der Story als Lücke stehen.
