Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times With an affection for nerd culture that is inversely proportional to its budget, this lo-fi sci-fi comedy is destined for laugh-filled late-night viewing. Jan 18, 2018 Full Review Jared Mobarak Jaredmobarak.com Just as this desire to homage and parody at the same time provides the film's best moments, however, it also generates many of the worst. Rated: 5/10 Aug 28, 2018 Full Review M. Faust The Public (Buffalo) [Writer-director Christian Nicolson] cheerfully turns his shortcomings into an advantage, or at least a joke, and if it gets tiresome along the way rouses itself for a likeable ending. Jan 18, 2018 Full Review Lauren Burgess HeyUGuys Made by fans for fans, Boulder is a fun space-romp that's well worth checking out. Rated: 3/5 Jun 13, 2017 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst There are so many fantastic moments it's hard to single some out. Rated: 9/10 Oct 27, 2016 Full Review Simon Foster Screen-Space [The] sense that every set-up was forged with passion and persistence imbues this giggly, goofy and genuinely likable genre farce. Audience Member Ok. I have to assume that the other reviewers on here are friends and family of the producers. There is NO WAY this movie deserves 5 stars. The sets and effects are terrible, WHICH IS THE POINT. I have no issue with that. The acting however is just bad, and frankly the plot is beyond silly. I'm a sci-fi fan and I've even attended my share of conventions. Yes, I'm a nerd. One of those people who this movie was ostensibly made for, but I found myself thinking, "why am I still watching this?" two thirds of the way through it. There are a few clever ideas thrown in such as the "Gorn" scene, but it's not enough. I'm sorry to rain on the parade, but it's just not a good movie folks - and no amount of spin is going to change that. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I went to see this when it was first released in NZ, if you love Lost in Space and Simon Pegg humour you will love this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a fresh, well written, well made film that deserves to be seen if not for the clever story but for how much heart it has.
