      Emil T There were no peaks or valleys here...flatlined for the most part. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/22 Full Review Audience Member I felt that the film was trying to engage the audience in feeling sympathy for the mediocre white Mexican man. There is nothing particularly interesting nor inspiring about the main character other than the fact that he still believes in himself despite repetitive failure he is confronted with. He is hyper focused on this vision he has of himself, aspiring towards what the world does not offer. Those fantastical moments of magical realism through interpretive dancing are interesting but equally as disorienting and detach the viewer from the main character. I don't understand what Mexican Cinema is doing. Why are they still making movies about white guys?
