Synopsis
Riverside, a sleepy neighborhood in Houston, has been at the center of over six decades of racial strife and controversy bursting at the seams, as black families attempt to break the color barrier by moving into the historically white neighborhood. Over time, Riverside transitions from an exclusively white upper-middle-class area to a cultural and social center for black Texans seeking to establish a community of their own despite various personal and political challenges.
