Kevin Maher Times (UK) And so, they’re in love, they’re not, they are, they’re not, she swims a lot and makes some pies, and then they’re in love. Brilliant. Rated: 2/5 May 31, 2024 Full Review Catherine Bray Guardian There are other films that would deliver more, but if you’re looking for a sweet will-they-won’t-they-of-course-they-will, this amiable romcom should fit the bill. Rated: 3/5 May 29, 2024 Full Review Romey Norton Film Focus Online This Time Next Year tells a tale of friendship, romance, personal growth and plays with the concept of destiny. The film is filled with every rom-com trope under the sun, but don't let that stop you from watching. Rated: 3/5 Jul 22, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Charlotte P I’m giving this half a star because I can’t give it a zero. Possibly one of the worst films I’ve watched, and annoyingly it’s two hours of wasted time. Maybe the half a star is for the music, which was very good (and therefore conspicuous against the terrible storyline and acting). Don’t watch Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Stephanie P Probably the worst film I’ve ever watched. I kept waiting for it to get better but it just got worse. Dull, cheesy cringe with bad acting. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review Yessie Y Dire. I had hope that it'd be a nice easy watch romcom, but it was so dull, so blatant in its content. There was zero chemistry and everyone 'acted', it was mildly better than amateur dramatics. The female lead started to grate and I realised it's because she lacked any depth of character (they all did, apart from one of the team at her pie shop who barely said anything) but also seem incapable of much range in her vocals, she pushed and almost shouted her way through the latter part of the film. The cliches were unbearable. Wooden. What a waste of time for everyone. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/15/24 Full Review Lorraine D Predictable rom-com - but perfect for what I need on a sick day in bed. And a nice view of London landmarks Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review M M I love a cheesy romcom but this was pretty unconvincing and charmless despite clearly trying quite hard. It's strange because the ingredients were there but it didn't work. 2 stars because I liked Minnie's parents a lot, the mum especially livened it up. Ultimately I was uninvested and couldn't care less if they got together Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Charlotte B If you enjoy most rom coms, you won’t waste your time. It isn’t a new classic, but it’s a cosy book turned to screen, it’s a warm silly watch and the onscreen chemistry is acceptable and believable. There are some bits that annoyed me, mostly the best friends boyfriend who was a gamer boy and that was evident in every conversation, his entire personality was video games, but if that’s how it is in the book I can’t blame them that. There was a certain Disney moment based on a “seminal conversation” that I thought “I think I should be laughing” but was just a bit weird to me. I did chuckle at “I spent hours on this costume“. I digress. The mums were great and I enjoyed their acting and story line. The main character was a bit whiney, they were going for “frazzled British lady”, maybe these characters work better in books, in real life it’s just a bit irritating. The Guinea pig cage was too small. Not the best, not the worst and I was glad I watched through to the end. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
