s r I recommend you take a nap before you watch this two part series. It was a fair portrayal of Jefferson and confronts the controversies that surround him. However, it may have spent too much time on issues that were not central to his identity, but rather were an agenda of Burns to cover. I did learn more about Jefferson and I appreciate its contribution to educating people about him. It was on my brother's DVD. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Engrossing and superbly detailed account of the life, of one of our greatest presidents. Par for the course, for documentarian Burns. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent bio. Portrays Jefferson's genius as well as his flaws. Makes him a human being. Sam Waterston's readings were particularly exceptional. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A very good documentary on the third president. A two part series it may seem long but it lives up to Ken Burns's attention to detail. Great series for history classes and can spark some debate on the reflection of today's liberties. Good for home schooled. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting history lesson of one of the brilliant minds that was instrumental in declaring independence for the United States and forming the democracy that has kept America strong for so long. Also representative of many Americans today... flawed, but at heart a good man. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member My favorite revolutionary. Ken Burns always provides an interesting look. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
