Charlotte O'Sullivan Independent (UK) His theories are fascinating, but if his ex-girlfriend is anything to go by, he had terrible taste in people. She and her husband blaze with self-importance, but secrete frustration and disappointment from every pore. Nov 15, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Less about Pynchon than it is about the people who obsess over the man. Very little talk of his books. (They only interviewed like five people!) Might as well be about a Bigfoot with literary laurels and an ex-girlfriend. Most of the movie is a pastiche of (sometimes very cool, though completely random; tangential at best) archival footage with the same few songs on repeat in the background, all of it functioning as filler for the otherwise thin content. How they got it to 1.5 hours is a work of wonder. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Pynchon certainly deserves better than this.
