Audience Member Even though I like football as much as anyone, and I have a soft-ish spot for Spurs and classic cars, this was tiresome in the extreme. Wall-to-wall Mockney accents, painful singing, a lame premise and zero action meant that I could only endure half of it. 5.5/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It's really not as good as I remembered, if the film was about Millwall I think I'd of given it 1 star. The performances are sketchy and the emotional side of things just doesn't work. It's got Danny Blanchflower in it though so I still kind of love it despite myself. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Alice in Wonderland for Tottenham fans. Not enough parralels with what was going on within Tottenham's season for my liking. No references to any games during that season and at no point did it appear that these girls attended any games even though it's mentioned that they went to every one. It was just a movie about an adoration for a team, and one player in particular, Danny Blanchflower. The movie did conjure up the spirit that exists within all children obsessed with football, that there is nothing else that matters. The scene where she scampers up the stairs to her room to hear the cup final result on her 'wireless' reminded me of running home after school to catch the kick off between England / France in the 1982 World Cup. And i'm so glad i did, otherwise i would have missed Bryan Robson's goal after 28 seconds. Even to this day i remember how i felt at that exact moment, and that is what football is all about. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member heart warming movie of 4 young girls who have the misfortune to support spurs and their quest to get to the 1961 cup final. Watch out for a lovely cameo from Elizabeth Spriggs. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Movie night with Iris. Any critical nous goes out of the window i'm sorry. From the minute she gets in the car with Danny i want to well up. It is actually an excellent portrayal of growing up; living in a dream world; and perhaps not understanding your parents break-up. 5 bloody stars, and Iris loved it. COYS. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I adored this film. Being a football fan, I could identify with the Spurs-mad girls who would do anything to get their hands on an FA Cup final ticket. I am always impressed with Jack Rosenthal's scripts, and this was no different. The film is very quirky and very English. Brilliant! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
