The impeccably-casted dynamical performances are what charismatically fuel the entertainment value to the point of being one of the year's best comedies at founded hilarious peak with smartly-focused writing. Speaking of which, while the original 80s' comedy is timelessly funny with shared approaches, this festively inspired feat improves the storytelling when being more meaningfully connected. Most of the actors seemed like they were sleep-walking through it. The script was repetitive. If there had been one more scene of them having self-analysis or an impromptu family therapy session because of their dad leaving long ago, I thought I might need therapy. It was billed as Hallmark's first non-romantic Christmas movie, and, yet they paired everyone up at the end. I felt assaulted by all of the platitudes. Enough of the self-awareness!
