thomas a A highly emotional French film about the three strangers whose lives were changed forever by a single accident that affected their lives. I think it has a rather delicate story, so I wonder why it is given such low ratings by the public...perhaps they do not like the fact that the ending does not provide a satisfactory conclusion. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A well made drama, excellent performance backed by great cinematography and a good, complex yet real enough story to get you involved. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a pretty good, small, French drama. The general story seems familiar. There is a hit and run accident; witnessed by a neighbor. She sees the driver get out of his car, and can identify him. But, she does not. The 3 worlds of the title, ostensibly refer to: the up and coming driver who is on the verge of getting married to the boss's daughter. The marriage brings with it an advance in his career and income. The wealthy boss is involved in some shady financial shenanigans. The witness is newly pregnant and involved with a guy she does not want to commit to. The victim and his wife are illegal aliens. The victim has some goon-like friends of questionable legal status. The story chugs along. The various characters cross paths. They each make questionable decisions. The story held my interest. The acting was good. We cannot accurately guess what the various characters might choose to do. The film saw limited release for about 60 days. It then went straight to DVD. Some plot points did not make sense. The ending is somewhat of a muddled mess. Still, the movie is worth a look. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member A very good screenplay by Catherine Corsini, but not a very good film. The cast members are badly mismatched, and Corsini has no idea how to use music to enhance her atmosphere. Relentlessly dreary. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I found it somehow so deja vu Hollywood style in a way, might not be an impressive one, but for sure is one good, entertaining one to watch. Stephen Holden New York Times Each thread of the plot is followed to its dangling, ragged conclusion in a movie that may be painful to watch but that maintains a chilly integrity.
