Critics Consensus

Threesome's titillating title belies a dreadfully dull drama whose attractive stars are handily outmatched by a shallow script.

Dolores Barclay Associated Press The characters lack substance and development and, in the end, not only don't we care about them, but we'd sure like them to go away. Fast. Feb 20, 2020 Full Review David Ansen Newsweek Fleming's vision may be less tony than the overrated Best Foreign Film, but it's truer. And a lot more fun. Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Janet Maslin New York Times The film is so proud of its alleged daring that it even begins with a dictionary definition of the word 'deviant.' 'Sitcom' would have been more like it. Rated: 1/5 May 20, 2003 Full Review Gregory Racz Buffalo News TriStar hopes that audiences' libidinous imaginations will keep their minds off the film's flaws. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 29, 2024 Full Review Gary Wolcott Tri-City Herald The old saying goes, "Two's company; three's a crowd." It's an adage that would have served Threesome writer-director Andrew Fleming well. Rated: 0.5/5 Feb 28, 2024 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Mildly charming and occasionally sexy but shallow and silly menage at trois tale set at UCLA dormitory. Gnr E Adult romance comedy is so good to watch Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Mike P This was the next generation's "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice"; or a racier version of "Three's Company". But the plot is contrived and the characters are stereotypes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/11/24 Full Review Audience Member 3 college roommates trying to figure themselves out in a totally 90s love triangle. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review robert p A movie ahead of its time that shows a Gay, Straight Woman, and a third guy who's straight but they all enjoy the ending together! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review jason m This movie remains as smart and sexy and fresh as the 1st time I saw back in the 90's. The critical & audience consensus on this one is rubbish. Threesome is a lost gem. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Lame Gen-X film in which the only real saving grace is its soundtrack.
