Full Fell Witness review: http://bit.ly/kXTLLW See more 01/04/2011 Watch this back to back with the Sally Mann documentary "What Remains" and you will see a fascinating contrast between both Gearon and Mann's parenting styles and their drives to make art. The editing of "The Mother Project" makes me think that the filmmakers agree with Gearon's detractors that accuse her of exploiting her family. But "The Mother Project" is as fascinating and layered a piece as Gearon's project. Both leave you with a distinct feeling that you may be voyeur to a very troubled family. With the combination of this film and Gearon's photographs we get to see deep inside the mind of an artist and the influence of her emotionally troubled family. Unprecedented. See more 09/05/2008 This is a touching and honest portrayal about an imperfect, often disturbing family, and the artistic genius at the center of it, Tierney Gearon. She is an extremely gifted, albeit troubled, photographer. Having grown up with a mentally ill mother and an absent father, she has used art as a way to portray her inner self through her family- her mother and her children. There are times when you have to question some of her choices as a parent, but never as an artist.
