Jonathan Romney Screen International True to its title, German psycho-thriller Till the End Of The Night is a densely nocturnal affair, but there’s a thin line between sombre and murky, and Christoph Hochhäusler’s genre-tweaking film eventually crosses it. Feb 26, 2023 Full Review Guy Lodge Variety Tossing a fraught transgender love story in the middle of an otherwise standard cop procedural, the film doesn’t much satisfy on either level, with superficial sexual politics and slack suspense. Feb 25, 2023 Full Review David Rooney The Hollywood Reporter Not worth investigating. Feb 24, 2023 Full Review Damon Wise Deadline Hollywood Daily Whatever it is that brings undue scrutiny to an otherwise serviceable piece of pulp entertainment, Till the End of the Night disappoints not because of what it is but because of what it might have been. Oct 24, 2023 Full Review Nadine Whitney AWFJ.org Till the End of the Night is a murky drama that delivers on neither of its premises; it’s not a good crime film (in fact it is a terribly plotted one) and it does nothing to deliver on the love-hate relationship between Leni and Robert. Sep 24, 2023 Full Review Sarah Manvel Critic's Notebook What director Christoph Hochhäusler has done here is center trans issues in a standard crime story without making a big deal of it. This is so fresh it lifts “Till the End of the Night” past the ordinary into something special. Mar 7, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
