Edward C Some movies are bad... but so bad that they are funny. This "film" was not funny. From the unacceptable sound and horrendous color grade, this is one the worst films I have ever seen. There are scenes in the movie that had different color grades within the scene. The main character had a critically awful accent and the characters basically stood in a circle... over 15 times. I guess the director had no sense of blocking and vision. What's worse than directing was the cinematography. The frame was always blown out, the 180 rule was always being broken, and there was ZERO visual storytelling. There is no point of even making this "movie", it was a waste of people time and money. I wish I could time travel and tell myself to never watch this. Hell, time travel to prevent this monstrosity from even existing! They better not make a second one... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Adam D I only watched like 20 minutes of this film drunk and tired but it was the best 20 minutes of my entire life. From the first second of the film I was gripped. The opening of the festival was full of life and color perfectly capturing the time period of the 1906s. And the audio experience as well feels like it was ripped right from the era. As we all know people couldn't record audio back then so the intentional choice to have the sound sound like people talking into tin cans is quite brilliant. Now to the characters themselves, the Time Boys. The boys were good but no other character stands out other than the eccentric Josiah played Randall Terry. Such an Oscar worthy performance, the accent work is incredible. Give this man any role, any culture, or any race and he can play it. The last scene of the movie (the last thing I remember) was such a beautiful way to end the film. The framing of the boys and Josiah kneeling at their bunk beds praying was great closure to the whole theme of the film - at least I think it was I don't really remember. The best kind of films leave you with questions after you finish it, and I just have one. Why are they called Time Boys? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Wilson C Decent for the family and young kids, sound quality was pretty mid but the soundtrack was good. the music and songs sometimes felt like expensive icing on a cake made by a five year old that was trying to love you that ended up giving you food poisoning. And yet, you keep eating the cake. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Chris Funny. But not funny haha; funny weird. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Justin W True cinema. Martin Scorsese could never- I loved every second, and so did my family. The soundtrack is crazy, they got Saving Able and Al Pitrelli on there somehow. This is clearly a labor of love, often times it's hard to tell if it's supposed to be serious or supposed to be irony, but perhaps.. that's the beauty of it. It's up to the viewer to decide how it affects them. The greatest scene is definitely a modern interpretation of the revolutionary war, and the greatest character is hands down, Josiah. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/23 Full Review Idella H I met the director in the Apple Store today and I wish I could tell him thank you personally I loved the movie !!!!!!!! As an adult it's a must see and the part about religion in school was freaking hilarious!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
