Azzam A An absolute waste of time. The movie is supposed to be sci-fi, around the virus and the cure for it. Instead, it's about the relationship of two people. The music and lighting takes away from the movie too, like having someone play music while you're at the movie theater. Waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review Ash B The first half, though slow, was mysterious and riveting. The second half is a hackneyed "revenge on cheating boyfriend" story with random scifi coating. If it stopped at part 1, I would have been content. Part 2 basically ruined it for me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/21/23 Full Review Jim B Kind of a pile of turds... You keep hoping for some grand reveal, or some way to make sense of the movie, but that never comes. Just a bunch of infected people trapped inside some kind of underground facility that transforms infected people into robots that dispose of infected people. While I am sure it couldn't possibly be the actual plot, it feels like the lead actress basically caused the destruction of human life by being jealous of her cheating boyfriend. In the end, they all get what they had coming... Which is death and suffering. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review Chelsea T Plot moved at glacial speed. Trite themes were blatantly expressed in dialogue. I Didnt love any one character because they were all despicable at some point. The movie wasn't terrible enough to stop watching, but I didn't feel any pay off for finishing it. It gets a little credit for originality but the execution left a lot to be desired Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/11/23 Full Review Magyar T Highly creative. Noir scifi. Revenge among the spurned nerds. Lots of fascinating slime. What's not to like? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/15/23 Full Review Antony M What did I just watch?! Noel Murray Los Angeles Times There are elements of classic science fiction here, yes. But “Tin Can” is more like a tone poem about humankind’s inherent frailties. Aug 12, 2022 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online Smith has pulled off the remarkable feat of turning a low budget and limited means into a virtue rather than a hindrance, allowing his characters’ disorientation to seep into and infect the film’s very structure. Sep 1, 2022 Full Review Terry Mesnard Gayly Dreadful I cannot get the bleak implications of the story out of my mind...The nihilistic theme and the subtle character work benefits multiple viewings, but not everyone will sign-up for a second helping of this slow-burn gooey mess of a movie. Rated: 3/5 Aug 10, 2022 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee The goopy, grimy practical effects are sometimes impressive, but they lose impact without anything concrete to signify. Rated: C+ Aug 10, 2022 Full Review Steve Biodrowski Cinefantastique TIN CAN is admirably ambitious, but it fails to realize its full potential. Nevertheless, it provides ample proof that director Seth A. Smith and cowriter Darcy Spidle are talent worth watching Rated: 2/5 Aug 8, 2022 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies Smith's futuristic tale is an exercise in thick atmosphere and mounting dread.
