Simon L Even after thirty three years, this movie made in Papua New Guinea is still like a breath of fresh air. It has the framework of a melodrama, filled in with fascinating characters and heartwarming scenarios, which reflect social texture specific to its locations. The red bush taxi with white painted lettering TINPIS on the door is the hero that visually ties the events together. The interactions between "Papa" portrayed by Leo Konga, "Naaki " by Oscar Wanu, and " Joanna" by Rhoda Selan are natural and enjoyable. There might be some plot holes, which however do not seem to impede the story flow too much. The one complaint I have is with the resolution of the movie, which demands digital restoration. I like this film. It makes me laugh and smile on the inside. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/12/24 Full Review Mister L Fantastic slice of life comedy. Every shot in expertly placed, every moment enjoyable. It really made me feel things. Plus, helped me brush up my tok pisin, which is always a good thing. Nothing wrong with it. Watch it!!
