It got a lot of flack from Chinese media because it goes against the "Chinese dream" or whatever, but as a North American citizen, I didn't find anything wrong with it. It's basically a Chinese version of "Gossip Girl" anyway. It is definitely not a critically acclaimed sort of movie by any means, but it's such an easy watch and it's incredibly entertaining LOL, particularly to those who like entertainment such as "Pretty Little Liars" and "Gossip Girl" and stuff like that. Anyway, China is an evolving country. Let it be. Young Chinese generation are being exposed to so many brands marketed to their face these days, it's no surprise that this movie has gotten such a huge box office in China.
