Audience Member Fairly average WW2 movie. Doesn't do justice to Stephen Crane's "Red Badge of Courage", on which it is based, apparently (though you wouldn't know it unless it was in the credits). Decent performances though. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This started out interesting but then it got very very boring. Off-beat, slow and filled with lame actors this is the one for those, who like to sleep while watching a movie.. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Tråkig, svår att följa Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member A Czech remake of Red Badge of Courage set in North Africa in WW2. One of the better films to have been set in that campaign, it comes at it from a fresh angle with a plot that has been tried and tested elsewhere. Good acting and locations add to the effect. Probably of most interest to those who are already fans of war films. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Film.com reports that this is ‘The story of Jiri and Jan, two Czech soldiers, battling alongside the allied forces against the Germans, during World War II in Tobruk, Libya’. What is the point of having knobheads who so clearly have such a tiny grasp of what its all about that they can say of Czech soldiers that they fought ‘alongside the allies’ reviewing anything at all? (OMG Wiki has the same line!) But never mind. Tobruk is competent, worthy and very well shot and was nominated for eight Crystal Lions (Czech Cinema awards). Sadly it would not arouse very much interest elsewhere because all of this has been done before, just not in Czech I guess. Never mind; it’s a different take on the well known tale of this North African siege and worth watching for that. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This is not war movie. It's more DRAMA than anything else. I was expecting something completely different. Still ... could be worse. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
