06/09/2022 Very predictable storyline, stretched run time and the story borrows heavily from some of the popular boxing movies in Hollywood such as Southpaw. The only bright spot for this film is Farhan Akhtar's performance. See more yash b 09/07/2021 "Toofaan" does encounter some narrative issues and also hits many genre tropes, but is also a fairly entertaining movie. I felt the story and characters were interesting enough and the messages in the movie were surprising. I would say anyone expecting a lot of boxing scenes might find themselves a bit disappointed in the movie because there is a lot more time dedicated to other topics. I still found all of it to be interesting, even though the movie did feel way too long and unfocused at times. Despite the storytelling flaws, I usually am easily manipulated by these sort of crowd-pleasing sports movies and found myself enjoying the movie for what it was. Overall, it's not going to redefine the boxing genre in any way, but I think it is still a pretty good movie being a bit unfairly bashed by a lot of people.
