steve d deeply uninteresting with some terrible performances. Even Harris is unremarkable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Frances H The Natural, it's not, but for a first film, not bad. Ed Harris is always worth a watch! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/14/19 Full Review Audience Member Somewhat interesting but acting was pretty poor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review dave j Thursday, February 28, 2013 (2008) Touching Home DRAMA Based on actual events from real life twins that works like a 'Sunday Afternoon Special' which involves sons tolerating their alcoholic father(Ed Harris) from the time they were young up until their adults. The father whose played by Ed Harris lies to them, steals from them for selfish reasons including gambling and boozing and they continue to forgive him each time. Near pointless experience when they're better films than this. 1 star out of 4 Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member For anyone who has grown up in a small blue collar community and has seen the struggles, this movie may hit a little too close to home. All the reviews that talk about the poor acting of the Miller brothers, aren't actually "seeing" the movie. I'm not sure how I never saw this movie before today. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member In my opinion, the story was alright, it did though, touch my heart because of the father. Robert Abele Los Angeles Times Handsome but standard-issue heartland fare. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 16, 2010 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety The offscreen story of these unknowns getting their autobiographical drama to the screen proves more interesting and inspiring than the polished, earnest, rather routine movie itself. Jul 6, 2010 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times Without making a fuss about it, Touching Home looks squarely at working-class people for whom professional sports are not just a fantasy, they are also a way out of a dead-end existence. Rated: 3/5 May 14, 2010 Full Review Ryan Cracknell Movie Views Touching Home is stronger when it focuses on the small-town life than when it steps on the ball diamond. The decent cast elevates it to a tolerable level. Nov 20, 2013 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru A heartfelt albeit slightly contrived drama that boasts a brave, emotionally resonant performance by Ed Harris as well as inspirational messages about the important virtues of courage, love, hope, passion and family. Rated: 7.42/10 May 15, 2010 Full Review Kelly Vance East Bay Express On the sweet side of bittersweet, but will not rot your teeth. May 11, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews
