03/11/2015 Fantastic documentary on the crazy, homophobic coach at PSU. This was made in 2009 when Jo Pa made all the rules. Makes me wonder how much he assisted in creating this awful environment for women. Highly recommend. See more 06/06/2013 Training Rules presented the topic in its raw form, but it feels too uninvolving for the part of the viewer. See more 12/31/2011 Excellent treatment of the controversy surrounding the Penn State women's basketball program involving their long-time coach, Rene Portland and her discriminatory policy concerning lesbians. The filmmakers were somewhat hampered in presenting the full story, as the terms of the settlement between coach Portland and Jen Harris, one of her former players who sued her, prevented either party from giving an interview. But enough other people close to the situation were not bound by that agreement and the filmmakers were able to present a pretty clear picture of the psychological abuse that existed under coach Portland. Well done, but one came away wanting to see this program compared to one more tolerant. The extras gave the viewer a little taste of that, but this viewer wanted more.
