Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times An absorbing mystery thriller. Rated: 4/5 Oct 8, 2004 Full Review Dave Kehr New York Times [Girod's] film feels more like what one would see from the top of a double-decker tourist bus than the work of someone who has immersed himself in a sexual subculture and its particular values. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 29, 2004 Full Review Ernest Hardy L.A. Weekly What really sink the film are the script's reductive, outdated psychological implications ... and its clumsy melodramatics. Oct 7, 2004 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International Bo ... in Stvenin's smirky, callow performance often comes off as more irritating than sympathetic. Aug 8, 2004 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...it's instantly forgettable, which is an impressive feat given how endless the film feels. Audience Member The worst thing part of a thriller is not to have the audience really care what's going on. There's about eight characters who are kiilled and it's hard to keep track since everyone is busy explaining the convoluted plot. The actors appear to be either posing for the camera or sleepwalking since they have a consistent monotonous way of talking. The only interest is how it's going to end and the twist left me cold. Albeit, Robinson Stevenin is well suited to the role of the transvestite and Stephane Metzger is appropriately cast as a self-centered, sexy but brutual man. It's the type of French movie that's too talky and would have benefited from fewer characters and less plot.
