      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a noisy, underplotted, and overlong special effects extravaganza that lacks a human touch.

Derek L The sequel to 2007's Transformers is rather dull and forgettable story with little narrative structure, uninteresting characters that shared no signs of development and some rather awkward sequences and editing. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Amir A First Of All The Soundtrack Is Awesome! I commend this movie for being made through the great WGA Strike in 2009 and this movie had to get rushed out but I Enjoyed this movie a great amount and it's better than the first. Shia LaBeouf is incredible and the humour is on point. The CGI is still great and Leo & Agent Simmons are funny in this. Overall Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is an amazing Sequel which needs more love because this movie gets The Amazing Spider-Man 2 treatment. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Garid B This film still shares the same tone and atomosphere of its predecessor, but lacks its eumph. The plot is not very uniform throughout, due to the writer's strike that went down at the time of its production, but still interesting enough to follow. The effects and action are, as always, brilliant and riveting. The titular villain of this film is also a treat. Overall, this film is the least of the original Transformers Trilogy but still miles better than both Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review JOHN B Good follow up, plenty of action Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review O.B Fan Boy It was a very dragging movie, but it was a cool story, that was just somewhat flawed, as well as there being a lot of bad side characters like the ugly twins, who where flawed by there bad character traits. Mary F. Pols TIME Magazine The movie is like the play date from hell, the kind where a crew of children reduce your home to rubble and conduct endless bouts of loud war on the living-room floor while you ponder the propriety of opening a bottle of wine. Jun 9, 2014 Full Review Peter Rainer Christian Science Monitor I would like to think that even if I was 14, either in body or spirit, I would still find this film an impossibly, incomprehensibly overlong and cacophonous bore.
