one of the best movies of 2007 and in general one of the best most soulful films of all time I put it right on my greatest films of all time list next to godfather, Casablanca, citizen Kane, gone with the wind. and never mind there will be blood or no country for old men this is in my opinion the best movie of 2007 the screenplay is perfect, the acting is astonishing ( Jon voight is the best part about this movie ) and the dialogue is witty. great character development as well. I can't take it anymore how viewers just keep calling these types of movies dumb and mindless they are not really or at least not entirely after all the terminator films are action movies but they are intelligent and had an actual sense of plot and storytelling, as a result those films and Star Wars and avatar got oscars, transformers ( the original ) is no different it was like ET for teens and ET got oscars as well this movie deserved oscars itself including one for bay and I'm still baffled how it didn't win the effects awards why did they have to give it to the golden compass bayformers 1 was way way way better. bay could have won the Oscar for effects and he didn't its no fare. transformers is a masterpiece I hesitate to label it the true citizen Kane and being better than marvels avengers they can move aside because Hasbro's transformers are the true guardians of this universe and Michael bay is the true Optimus prime/autobot leader. I never had a more emotionally satisfying experience in th theaters than watching transformers. and in my opinion this is the true birth of transformers and not the G1 children's cartoons those are fraud. bayformers is the real transformers and nothing can beat it.
