Although described as an action film when it isn't really, I'm surprised this hasn't been better received. It ended up being a completely different story and a much slower burn from what I was expecting - I found it to be a very moving portrayal of multiple facets of male struggles with grief/trauma, emotional vulnerability, interpersonal relationships and trying to find your place in the world in different stages of life - probably the best acting I've seen from Sam Worthington. Don't go into it thinking you're going to watch a fast paced action film, it's far more thoughtful while still having an edge and raw subject matter.

An easy film for critics and movie watchers to dismiss as too ordinary. The film is a sketch of how society treats its veterans in combination with a family drama and action. A solid, sad soundtrack, great acting performances and realistic storyline great a compelling sit through. If you like this movie it's because you have patience and appreciation for movies that tell a story. Not a lot of pops and bangs, but enough existential questions to compensate. A movie to watch alone with a good whiskey.

I enjoyed the movie and am surprised of the rank it got. It is kind of slow paced but I felt that was to give the feel of what the characters.were going through. Moments it was loose but I would recommend this movie.

There is action in this movie but it is hardly an action movie...the themes of displaced soldiers with PTSD and a father-son relationship impacted by that are the center of the movie. Worthington is great and the actor who plays the teenage son really portrays the struggle amazingly well.
