At the behest of her husband, Robert (Paul Cavanagh), who's due to spend the next year working in India, English housewife Elsie Maury (Kay Francis) sets out for a lengthy holiday in Paris. There she meets Don Arturo de Borgus (Ricardo Cortez), a suave Spanish man whose charms she's unable to resist. Elsie eventually considers leaving Robert for Don Arturo, but, when their relationship ends in tragic fashion, she tries to salvage her marriage before Robert learns of her disloyalty.
