Audience Member Terrible movie, absolutely mind bogglingly bad. The plotline is muddled at best, although I shouldn't say that since to be honest, there is really no plotline. It is just a mess of different locations where the protagonists travel through and meet new characters you will not care about nor ever see again. With the lack of a plot you will not care about any of the characters, except maybe to root for their deaths and even when characters die it is still so unsatisfying. Also the camera shots are so dull and grey, that's it's like somebody put a polarizing film over it. And the acting is so wooden that actual planks with faces painted on them would have done a better job and you would have cared more about since a plank getting shit is a waste of a good potential coffee table. As a final now, I'm pretty sure that the writers of this piece of crap completely do not understand what an open ending means. Here's a hint to them, it's not just cutting it off and fading to black. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Sadly, Plan 9 From Outer Space is not a good example of a style to emulate, but nobody bothered to tell the Producer/s. Nor the actors... Editors please note : Holding on an actor can be a powerful dramatic tool.... However, holding on a bad actor who has barely managed to fumble out a line is a powerful narcoleptic trigger. And when you have actors who would fail spectacularly at auditions for amateur panto, you need something else to spruce things up : Perhaps not making a movie in the first place? It's admirable that the VFX team considered the environment by brushing the cobwebs off some languishing Commodore 64, but the Sound Designer went a bit too far down memory lane by recording the dialogue on wax cylinders, with a blunt stylus. If ham is an aspiration, this mess peaked. It's 2019, folks. Technology ain't that pricey, and skilled technicians are everywhere. Just look at Youtube. Easy access to technological advances has created a talentless monster in the guise of creative democracy, resulting a morass of Z-grade dross, but to what end? The only reason to have a brief peek at this kind of rubbish is to reassure oneself that there truly are people out there who have zero talent. Have a look at the clumsy nod to Thunderbirds when they wheel out the "Pig". It's the only part of the film where someone actually tried, amusing as it is. Folks, please download this thing from a torrent site, and enjoy the fact that you are not supporting garbage in any way. This sludge is Rotten to the core.
