While Tom Hanks' post-traumatic avatar assumed a more existential, universal pokerfaced-ness in Cast Away, Rao's is, in context of his regional relevance, a deeply personal one.

"Trapped" deserves some points for being completely different from most Bollywood movies. It really has the feel of an independent movie you might catch at a film festival. This is a good survival movie that made me uneasy at many moments. The movie is pretty hard to watch at times but it is definitely an impressive feat of acting from Rajkummar Rao. This type of movie can get repetitive fast, but his performance and the constant challenges his character faces keep things interesting. Overall, it is an interesting movie that is not typical Bollywood at all, but that works as the movie's greatest strength.

The main character made me feel for him. Day after day of constantly trying to get someone to notice him. I did think of a few other options he could have used to escape. The first and last quarter of the movie were the better parts, but you couldn't help but sympathize throughout.
