Ann Hornaday Washington Post That Garrison has created such a vibrant, moving document of such an evanescent state of grace is a small miracle in itself. Jun 27, 2013 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle In addition to being fascinating to observe the process over time, Garrison's focus is a smart move since his midrange camerawork doesn't fully capture the magnitude and magnificence of the show. Rated: 3.5/5 May 3, 2013 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A warm thank you to those whose work is mostly invisible and entirely necessary. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 25, 2013 Full Review Jeanne Claire van Ryzin Austin American-Statesman Garrison's thoughtful, eloquent documentary illuminates the reality that all work matters and has dignity, no matter the invisibility of the labor. Rated: B May 2, 2013 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Warm, delightful and poignant. You'll never look at a garbage collector the same way again. Audience Member Quite simply, this movie has got it all. You couldn't script the real-life stories of characters in a fictional movie and get anywhere close to the true emotion of the men and women who make this documentary work. Forklift Danceworks' efforts in the City of Austin to incorporate everyday movement and everyday people into "modern dance" has been nothing short of a industry-shaking revelation. Director Andrew Garrison captured the people, the practice, and the performance incredibly. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A wonderful film documenting the choreographer Allison Orr's creation of a dance in Texas featuring trash workers as the performers. Enlightening and uplifting. My only complaint was that it could have been cut down slightly in the middle. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member 'Trash Dance'. Truly emotional and uplifting in telling the stories of people whose profession goes severely under appreciated. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Entertaining and interesting. I only wish there was more about the lives of the workers and a bit less about the dance at the end.
