Chris T @RT47909935 19h The scene where he is talking about his plane crash and they have him playing drums in the background with pyro is total trash. Nice try at being artistic about a tragic event. That scene had the vibe of relentless nails on a chalkboard. It was an okay doc. Same timeless message: overcome hardship with hard work and dedication to your craft, blah blah blah See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 1d Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear is a perfectly fine documentary, especially for longtime Travis Barker fans. As someone who isn’t a diehard fan, I went into this knowing very little about him beyond his public image and reputation, so I was interested to see what the documentary would actually reveal. The film does a solid job explaining Barker’s background, his career, and the experiences that helped shape him into the person he is today. It gives viewers a better understanding of where he came from and what influenced his journey, which makes the documentary informative enough to accomplish its basic purpose. My biggest issue is that it doesn’t do enough to pull in viewers who aren’t already fans. Rather than making me finish the documentary wanting to explore more of his music, career, or personal story, I walked away feeling like I had simply watched a standard overview. For dedicated Travis Barker fans, there is probably plenty here to appreciate. See more Cracker B @Kwhite 4d Louder Than Fear explores the life of a struggling, up-and-coming musician who found the limelight within a tight-knit community of punk rockers in Southern California. After joining Blink-182, the members grew together and forged a brotherhood through their shared struggles. The book examines Travis Barker’s challenges from childhood through adulthood before turning to the stories of his bandmates. Once strangers, they are now brothers. See more Phil B @Supernaut 4d Much better than I expected. Extremely well executed documentary. I really didn’t know that much about him going in other than he was a highly respected musician and married to Kourtney Kardashian. By the end of the movie I felt like I really knew him and was somewhat in awe of his perseverance and self awareness as well as his devotion to his family. The diversity of artists and others who had worked with him and had immense respect for him was impressive. All in all, this doc was one the best of its kind I’ve seen in a long while. I highly recommend it regardless if you’re a fan or not. It’s a very human story. See more Jay L @RT45299907 4d Absolutely fantastic!. See more Annabel W @RT55887807 4d Definitely a vanity project above all else. Although interesting, it came of as very self-aggrandizing and a tad narcissistic. The details of his plane crash were fascinating yet tragic, and I appreciate how it went in depth about the severity of his injuries. It envokes a lot of sympathy, especially alongside the discussion about his battle with addiction… However, it comes off painfully shallow and an attempt to distract from his past mistakes and controversy by only focusing on the "Look at me! I’m so talented and I was a prodigy! But I struggled with addiction and almost died and my mom died. Poor me 💔. My life was so hard 🥲" There should have been more about the people who died in the crash beyond his best friend. He blamed his divorce on addiction rather than the blatant infidelity. He doesn’t address his obsession with Kim, the disgusting misogyny in his memoir, the public scrutiny over his parenting, etc. It takes away credibility and genuineness a great deal.
