steve d Forgettable version of the often told tale. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review s r Yeah, I only saw it for Welles and was disappointed. The acting, directing, writing, music and editing were poor. It was a chore to get through, especially when Orson's enunciation made it so hard to understand what he was saying. The potential was squandered. I hope someday there will be a good remake worthy of the novel. It was on Tubi. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review simon d I'd not read the book, nor seen any other version of this film so I had high expectations, unfortunately I was disappointed by the film and the story. The ending of the story is incredibly disappointing and the film was just, well, not very piratey and I'm sure that treasure island isn't supposed to be in Cornwall yet the whole film looked like Cornwall. I suppose I'll be watching another version soon to see if it gets any better. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member An ok movie.. I like the story and I believe I will see more versions of it in the future. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Wasting a great story and undisputed acting talent. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member i didn't like this version as much as the 1950 & 1934 versions. the actors didn't capture the right tone and the cinematography is too infected with it's time - very 70s, soft focus, etc. and quite honestly the actors were all so mediocre it just left me flat. better of with the older versions.
