steve d Forgettable version of the often told tale. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review s r Yeah, I only saw it for Welles and was disappointed. The acting, directing, writing, music and editing were poor. It was a chore to get through, especially when Orson's enunciation made it so hard to understand what he was saying. The potential was squandered. I hope someday there will be a good remake worthy of the novel. It was on Tubi. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member An ok movie.. I like the story and I believe I will see more versions of it in the future. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Wasting a great story and undisputed acting talent. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member i didn't like this version as much as the 1950 & 1934 versions. the actors didn't capture the right tone and the cinematography is too infected with it's time - very 70s, soft focus, etc. and quite honestly the actors were all so mediocre it just left me flat. better of with the older versions. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It wasn't too bad considering it's age but it was let down by some irritating dialogue that you'd expect if this was meant to be performed on stage. I thought Orson Welles was brilliant as Long John Silver. As with Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbosa in Pirates of the Caribbean, you know that Long John Silver should be feared, but you cannot help but find him incredibly cool. It's quite dated now, but still enjoyable enough. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
