Justin T I have no idea what was going on in this film. All that I could understand was that this little girl was possessed by a troll who then turned people into other trolls. There was a witch too. The story was silly and the acting poor but the effects were acceptable and the comic-badness highly entertaining. The best bit though was the theme tune which I will be attempting to sing all day and won't leave my head for a long time. Worth a watch, especially with a group of friends for some mindless comical fun. I’m not looking forward to the sequel though. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/14/24 Full Review Alexander H I do think everyone who enjoys bad movies should watch this. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/21/24 Full Review Jens B 🎃 The one and only true Harry Potter – J.K. Rowling can go where the pepper grows. John Carl Buechler, the prestigious director of cinematic masterpieces like Friday the 13th Part VII and Ghoulies III, takes on a fantastical story: The Potters move into a new apartment, and everything seems great. Unfortunately, a troll lives in the basement, who gradually starts replacing the residents of the building. 🧌 Noah Hathaway, at the peak of his career, plays young Harry Potter Jr. and, just like in The NeverEnding Story, he has to defend the world from evil creatures. This time, though, he has to manage without a horse. 🍄 And then we have Sonny Bono and a witch among the residents. The witch lives with a rather lively and musically talented toadstool and explains to young Harry what he must do to save his sister. Then, out of nowhere, the movie turns into a musical, the whole building becomes a jungle on the inside, and eventually Troll thankfully comes to an end. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review Audience Member Troll is a campy PG-13 fantasy/horror/comedy movie from the late 1980's that doesn't take itself seriously. It's not a bad film for It's time, but it is NOT a good film now or for it's time, lol It is riding the coat tails of The Gremlins,Critters, and The Hobbit(1977). Not suitable for children (not that they would find it interesting) Not something to watch with your girlfriend or wife. If you have a few hours to kill at a rest stop or in a breakroom then this may entertain you. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/30/24 Full Review matthias s "Troll" takes you on a wild ride into a bizarre fantasy world that leaves you scratching your head. The creature design, while undeniably ugly, somehow manages to be oddly nasty and scary, but not necessarily in a good way. The plot is as thin as a sheet of paper, and Wendy's portrayal of her character is just plain weird and annoying, rather than delivering any real scares. Michael Moriarty as the father, on the other hand, is a delight to watch. His quirky humor and charm inject some much-needed life into this oddball movie. It's undeniably well-made, but "Troll" struggles to decide whether it wants to be a fantasy or a horror film, leading to a confusing mix of childish moments and a story that's clearly not meant for kids. The music scene with the creatures singing is strangely endearing, yet it clashes with the overall tone. The pacing is slower than a snail on a Sunday stroll, and a lot more backstory would have been appreciated. In the end, "Troll" is a peculiar cinematic journey that leaves you pondering its intentions long after the credits roll. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Steve D Not as bad as Troll 2 but close and less entertaining. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
