Audience Member This film is really the quintessential, aesthetically miserable film ever made. Yet, its beauty and tenderness is really surpasses. I remember going to sleep very easily just thinking of one of the images, its ethereal quality is displayed in full life and glory in its mezmerizing portrayal of life and its astute depiction of life which leads us to evaluate mankind's existence in totum and in this, it had a very visceral narrative, one resplendent and yet ugly. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Which obscure shithole of hell was this shot in? There's a level of desolation and abject hopelessness found not even in Tarr or Korine. Also there might be some cryptic narrative here but all I can see is three people walking though these dreary landscapes. To his credit Bartas makes some gorgeous compositions and lyrical moments. I can see some hints of Tarkovsky and Antonioni (maybe even a bit of Erice), but there's no sense of ennui or spirituality. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
