Denny S Chubby Checker and Dion appear in musical segments, but the rest of the film is just a low budget period piece with a very familiar script. For you film buffs, former silent film star Snub Pollard has a quick cameo at about 10 minutes in as an old-timer watching a young girl dance. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/06/25 Full Review Audience Member Almost exact remake of ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK. Loses additional points for having someone other than Chubby Checker invent the twist. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member year s/b 1961 not 2006 and its got chubby checker! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This 1961 flick is a ripoff of Columbia's 1956 Rock Around the Clock. By ripoff I mean same story, same lines, - just the musical acts are different. Oh, and this twisted rehash is less hip - the old girlfriend is the boss's daughter, not the boss. The music is good though. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
