Two business partners, Tim McGuerin (William Bendix) and Eddie Corbett (Joe Sawyer), are celebrated for the success of their thriving taxi service in Brooklyn. Through flashbacks, the pair reflect on their formative years in the late 1920s. Tim has his eyes on Sadie (Grace Bradley), a burlesque dancer, but unfortunately so does a gangster named Louis Glorio (Sheldon Leonard). Meanwhile, Eddie gets caught up with Marcia Morrison (Arline Judge), a beautiful gold digger.
