Stephen Holden New York Times "Two Lives" is an absorbing, well-acted, moderately suspenseful mystery, although its time line of events is fuzzy to the point of impenetrability. Feb 27, 2014 Full Review Ella Taylor NPR Two Lives unfolds in a slow boil of rage at the government that allowed all this emotional destruction. But Maas treats Katrine with compassion, as a victim of forces more damaging than her own ravenous hunger for love and family. Feb 27, 2014 Full Review Joe Neumaier New York Daily News This sober look into how war, peace and politics splintered lives is circuitous, but worth puzzling out. Rated: 3/5 Feb 27, 2014 Full Review David Lamble Bay Area Reporter ...a disturbing, multilayered drama about the roles and identities of so-called "war children" in contemporary Norway and Germany. Jun 9, 2020 Full Review Nora Lee Mandel Film-Forward.com The gradual unraveling of [a woman's] identity is suspenseful and sympathetically reveals the true pain of being an abused pawn of the losing sides of history. Rated: 7/10 Apr 11, 2014 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Satisfactorily tragic and pained, Two Lives is sharp work that develops spellbinding turns of plot as it unfolds. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I was on the edge of my seat through most of the film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Tries hard to be Le Carre but ended up confusing until the big reveal at the end of the movie, when it made sense to me what the big brouhaha was about. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A drama about a woman living two lives, one being a stasi agent abroad, and hiding a dark secret. Great historic thriller.
