Scott L @Scottylo Oct 17 A page right out of Anyone for tennis, Sam Peckinpah's "Salad Days" from Monty Python; complete with the blood shooting profusely from the guy's wrist/arm. It could easily have been a five star movie if only the director had understood 1980s black comedy horror campiness. It falls completely short of that because the characters were dry and practically lifeless. It misses the ridiculousness of those films. Still, it had it's moments, but unfortunately, they were few and far between. The director missed dozens of opportunities to add hilarity by keeping the characters dry and silly instead of slapstick, purposefully stupid humor. Directors either understand that or they don't. Too bad he turns into a monster at midnight. A goofy film in which I found moments of humor. Not scary at all but it does have gore. I thought the finale should have occurred halfway thru and then progressed from there. By doing so I think it would have been a stronger film. See more 02/20/2022 DUH, it is amazing!
