Christy Lemire FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This asks us to accept Matt Walsh as a romantic lead, which would be fine if he were given more to play. Sep 18, 2019 Full Review Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times The film is light and follows a distinct formula, but Walsh is incredibly charming, and shares a potent chemistry with Godrèche. Feb 9, 2019 Full Review Odie Henderson RogerEbert.com There's no reason for you to see Under the Eiffel Tower unless you enjoy being tortured for 87 minutes. Rated: 1/4 Feb 8, 2019 Full Review Patrick Crossen Film Inquiry Under the Eiffel Tower just doesn't have the spirit that a rom-com needs. Feb 27, 2019 Full Review Sandie Angulo Chen Common Sense Media Uneven midlife-crisis dramedy has drinking, language. Rated: 3/5 Feb 20, 2019 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies While Under the Eiffel Tower hits every genre cliche in the book, the film is able to overcome this due to the chemistry betweenMatt Walsh and Judith Godrche. Tina M Bad script. Kept waiting for it to get better. Gary Cole - what were you thinking??? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review Kat Y This movie should have been called whore on a train. Only one minute of it was under the Eiffel Tower. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I think the romance was very forced here, I think it would have been a better and more 'warm' story if it was more of a friendship and finding oneself. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Midnight in Paris rip-off. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely one of the worst letdowns from start to finish. Kept waiting for some redeeming quality or interesting twist in the story but there was no story and nothing redemptive at any point. The plot was shallow, the dialogue was awful, there was no tension, no character development. It was one bad scene after the other. Wanted to stop watching after about 30 minutes but regretfully we were curious about how it would end, and even the ending was terrible. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Under the Eiffel Tower is light and sweet, but disjointed, as though there was a much longer story to tell and not enough time to tell it. The romance between Stuart and Louise can't grow as it should, so I couldn't buy into it. I love Stuart's character, but he jumps between jerk and stand-up guy with no time in between to develop a whole picture of who he is. Her character is never developed at all. It's fun and disappointing at the same time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
