Laura M Nov 9 Okay, wow. Under the Palm Tree is the kind of thriller that grabbed me by the collar in the first five minutes and refused to let go. The film builds tension with intelligence instead of cheap tricks. The story unfolds like a tightening net, one subtle reveal at a time, and I didn’t realize how deep it had pulled me in until the final scene snapped everything into place. The main character is a force. I could see every unspoken thought flicker across his face, and that restraint made the tension hit even harder. And those darn palm trees. They became the silent witnesses. They stood there tall, still, unbothered while the story around Ted began to rot. To me, they symbolized everything he tried to hide. The lies. The manipulation. The bodies. Watching that yard fill up with palm trees felt like watching his conscience get swallowed whole. This thriller lingers. Long after the credits rolled, I caught myself thinking about that yard, those trees, and the kind of man who plants reminders of his past instead of burying them. Absolutely worth watching. See more Ingrid T Nov 8 This movie had potential to be pretty decent. The plot was ok. I really enjoyed Agent Bonnie Tucker and the scenes with the FBI crew. Some of the music choices seemed really off. It reminded me of a few other horror/ suspense movies but the acting could have been better. See more Pandoras B Aug 24 I am all for campy horror movies. This one just didn't do it for me. The good stuff: Vernon Wells and Petri Hawkins-Byrd (who knew he had those chops?!!). Great locations and it was nice that the lighting didn't get too dark to see in the night scenes. Lots of beautiful cars! Guessing there was a special cameo at the end. Acting overall for me was meh. I was frustrated with how this movie ended, Will Ted find the love of his life? Will Detectives figure him out? We need a part II there is so much more to this story.
