Cindy K This film is very low budget and does nothing to make the people of Abilene look in much of a positive light. Too many TV sports cast to file the film out. Story is nice and it's good that they town got behind their football team but it doesn't do a good job of filling out the story. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/19/21 Full Review Craig Storyline was not fully developed for a movie. Some of the acting was mediocre. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/08/21 Full Review Sergio C They done the impossible they severely messed up a good plot, poor editing and acting is so amateur I do better talking to a mirror Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/22 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was a good movie overall as we see the challenges both on the field and off the field that this Football team faced and how they got through it with the Grace of God. It would have been nice to know the follow-up of these boys and how they are doing today. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Basic Football Movie ! Ty Burr Boston Globe "Under the Stadium Lights" makes no effort to comprehend larger societal and systemic forces; it preaches grit, gumption, and a docile, unquestioning compassion. Rated: 1/4 Jun 5, 2021 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Under the Stadium Lights is pee wee by comparison to Peter Berg's All-American. Rated: 2/5 Jun 5, 2021 Full Review Thelma Adams AARP Movies for Grownups Though this one doesn't equal the genre's gold standard -- Denzel Washington's Remember the Titans -- the audience can rely on multiple adversity-crushing character arcs, the inevitable Gipper speech and the rousing big-game finale. Rated: 3/5 Jun 4, 2021 Full Review Ema Sasic Next Best Picture This movie could have been inspiring, but there is so much lousy storytelling going on. The biggest cringe is the fact that every minority character we're introduced to has a stereotypical broken home life. Rated: 2/10 Jun 27, 2022 Full Review Victoria Luxford City AM In the crowded genre of high school football dramas, it just doesnt do enough to distinguish itself from past greats.
