Undiscovered, a film about aspiring actresses and musicians, lacks originality and a convincing plot.

Elite N A good romantic film that deserves a Blue-Ray Collector's Edition Director's Cut Release! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/23/22 Full Review Audience Member has potential, but is not good enough. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member wasnt wat i expected.. im a fan of ashlee so i thought i would see more of her in this movie.. it wasnt gud.. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member ★★ (out of four) I'm sure "Undiscovered" had aspirations of launching Ashlee Simpsons acting career and sparking some radio friendly songs from its soundtrack. But there just isn't enough substance to this age old tale about hitting it big in show business. It has some talent in the cast, but they aren't given much worthwhile to do. Luke, played by Steven Strait, is a struggling rock musician living in New York. He heads to Los Angeles, hoping the change of scenery will help him get noticed. On his way he meets Briar, (Pell James) but he doesn't pursue it. They end up rconnecting in California since she is a struggling actress. She and her best friend (Ashlee Simpson) help Luke mold his rocker style. Strait and James are appealing young actors, but their characters are bland. Simpson adds nothing to the role, and her acting is quite poor. The songs are surprisingly fair. Not great, but not as bad as expected. Strait does have some talent as a musician. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I really liked this movie. Mostly because "Luke" was such a hotty. Roger Moore Orlando Sentinel It may be a cheesy lark, but life bubbles through the cheese. Rated: 3/5 May 13, 2009 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader With character names like Luke Falcon and Wick Treadway, this showbiz romance dangles the promise of a Showgirls-style debacle, but it isn’t bad enough to be good. Mar 6, 2007 Full Review Christy Lemire Associated Press Undiscovered feels more like a pilot for a glossy nighttime soap on Fox -- probably one that would be canceled midseason -- than a feature film with even a modicum of discernible originality or depth. Mar 6, 2007 Full Review Clare Pfeiffer Ramsey Metro Times (Detroit, MI) Undiscovered has about as much emotional depth and romantic sensibility as an episode of a Simpson sister MTV reality show. Jun 14, 2013 Full Review Christopher Borrelli Toledo Blade There is not a single moment in the undistinguished Undiscovered that will do for [Pell] James what those couple of compassionate, moving minutes do in Jim Jarmusch's [Broken Flowers]. Rated: 1/4 Jun 14, 2013 Full Review Peter Sobczynski eFilmCritic.com How bad is it? Ashlee Simpson has a supporting role in it and her singing isn't the worst thing about it.
