Louise V @LouiseVala Dec 3 I really loved Unpacking. The writing is sharp, the themes land, and the comedy is on point - it’s heartfelt without ever getting too heavy-handed. It feels incredibly grounded and observant. I especially loved Jackie (Jessica Rotondi) - every time she showed up, she genuinely made me laugh. The talent of the actors really shines through across the ensemble, with so many small moments adding up to a rich, funny, and honest world. Overall, it’s one of those films that sticks with you after, both for what it’s saying and how honestly (and humorously) it says it. Fantastic performances, directing, and writing. It's clear that a lot of passion went into the making. Visually it’s gorgeous, and I love how Bali plays its own character in a way. It’s wonderful to watch a film that focuses on female friendships and dynamics and is so well acted! I felt connected to the characters and definitely laughed and cried. Very touching and makes us look within and examine how the wellness culture can be exploitative and involve cultural appropriation…. Don’t want to give more away but you should watch it!
