A heartfelt, feel-good film! Though Unpacking centers around trauma and broken relationships it is as much playful and is absolutely hilarious. Fantastic performances, directing, and writing. It's clear that a lot of passion went into the making.

This is a stunning and powerful film that centers female relationships in an authentic and engaging way. Visually it’s gorgeous, and I love how Bali plays its own character in a way. It’s wonderful to watch a film that focuses on female friendships and dynamics and is so well acted! I felt connected to the characters and definitely laughed and cried. Very touching and makes us look within and examine how the wellness culture can be exploitative and involve cultural appropriation…. Don’t want to give more away but you should watch it!

Unpacking is an honest and raw indie film whose story unfolds with natural emotional depth from the ensemble of women. The authenticity and intimacy captured by the characters and their relationships invites the audience to reflect on the parts of us we choose to carry with us and of those we’re learning to let go of.

I really enjoyed Unpacking. It covers the kind of issues that often get overlooked in feel-good “spiritual” movies — how crisis can actually open the door to inner work and growth. The film isn’t afraid to show how messy transformation really is, while also poking fun at some of the clichés and contradictions of new-age culture. It’s funny, refreshing, and surprisingly honest. I left feeling understood, uplifted, and even a little more compassionate toward my own healing process.
