Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) You still have to sit through the young woman being viciously brutalized throughout the film. Sorry, I ain't gonna do it. Mar 15, 2023 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times A taut, inventive picture about two young Asian American women helping each other survive one terrible day. Mar 10, 2023 Full Review Niani Scott RogerEbert.com The futuristic aspect of a video call saving both characters is the movie's hook and insight, but it disguises a relatively generic, inconsistent plot with scattershot hot-button issues used instead of characters. Rated: 1/4 Mar 7, 2023 Full Review John Serba Decider In another filmmaker’s hands, Unseen might have been just a job, but Okumura directs with enough craft and intent to make a low-budget Blumhouse project a little more than just another forgettable thriller. Aug 8, 2023 Full Review Paul Lê Dread Central Thrillers like this are certainly not uncommon, however Okumura’s talent for finding and maintaining the story’s emotional epicenter as chaos routinely erupts is what makes the film both effective and gratifying. Craig B Please note... Unseen has been classified as 'horror / suspense', but in no world is this a horror movie... a suspense / thriller yes, but don't go in expecting to see a horror movie. Pretty slick thriller this one, with a unique premise. It gets a little silly at the end at the gas station (no spoilers!), but apart from that, an intriguing watch. The two leads put in solid efforts and pretty much carry the movie. If you've only got 80 minutes to spare, you can do plenty worse than Unseen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/26/24 Full Review Thom G Sometimes a bit too cheesy and demanding a serious suspension of disbelief practically, Unseen has a lot of heart, and is a welcome addition concerning those victims of harassment at different levels. The film also maintains attention until the end without losing steam. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review David P Could have been so good but just a stupid turn of events towards the end. Just stupid to where it ruins all the good up to that point. Why did you guys get so lazy at the end?? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Trevor B Unseen was ok, but very dragged out!!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Ki ð WOW are the last words out of my mouth when i watched this movie especially the ending and if you catch it right, the mental health/motivation of it all because it was such a… message. it's like one those things that gets stuck in your mind that you never forget anymore. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/24 Full Review Extra E This was a great movie to watch or teach life lessons to teenagers Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
