PG Released Apr 12 1h 40m History Drama List
Reviews 71% Fewer than 50 Ratings Audience Score Titanic -- you think you know the story, but think again. UNSINKABLE: Titanic Untold is the never-been-told story of the aftermath of the Titanic disaster. When the RMS Carpathia arrives in New York carrying survivors of the Titanic--passengers and crew alike--they find Senator William Alden Smith (R-MI) (Cotter Smith -- Mindhunter, X-2) has hastily convened in New York to ensure the testimony of all key witnesses. What ensues over days and weeks in New York and later Washington, DC, is a period drama not to be missed. UNSINKABLE: Titanic Untold is an exhilarating, true-life account of political interference, greed, conspiracy and a desperate grasp for accountability, interwoven with flashbacks to the heroism and sacrifice on Titanic's deck during that fateful night in April, 1912. Leslie Felperin Guardian The film-makers must have been grateful that the tragedy happened in the dark because it covers up the fact that it looks like the lifeboats are being lowered into a swimming pool while a giant cutout ship capsizes in the background. Rated: 2/5 Apr 10, 2024 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Mildly engaging and occasionally provocative, but somewhat clunky, shallow and undercooked. Apr 16, 2024 Full Review Joshua Axelrod Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Unsinkable” is an extremely commendable and well-intentioned project that’s only held back by an occasionally stodgy disposition and the rare moments when the film’s seams peak through its otherwise glossy exterior. Rated: 3/4 Apr 12, 2024 Full Review Monique Jones Common Sense Media This straightforward drama is likely to entertain history buffs, especially those who've been entranced by the lore around the Titanic. Google Had a couple of good moments, but I thought it would be a little more in-depth Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Moody C It’s just a bunch of peeps retelling story of Titanic sinking. If acting is just actors telling stories we wud be fine with just radio. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review roger s "Unsinkable" is a bit uneven but at times powerful in showing the humanity of those aboard the Titanic. It was also strong in showing the humanness of the people who failed to take precautions or showed weaknesses that are common to all of us. Ultimately a worthwhile film - but don't expect a big-budget blockbuster. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/18/24 Full Review Mark N A really good movie. Well acted, with an interesting story that held our interest. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Michael O Unsinkable is primarily about the United States Inquiry into the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Many films and TV programmes have already covered this subject matter, and this film brings nothing new to the viewer per se. The level of production for Unsinkable is that of a daytime TV movie. This is understandable as the film is based on the stage play. Many, if not all, the external location scenes are filmed at night, probably to hide modern-day features to cut costs on stage production. Being a big Titanic fan, the film didn't tell me anything I didn't otherwise know, so the subtitle of ‘Titanic Untold' is a bit of a misnomer. Karen Allen, the biggest listed actor starring in the film has more of a cameo than an actual performance; she must have filmed all her scenes in a day or two. The overall acting from all involved was very good. The acting is engaging and holds your attention. The script itself is very well written where parts feel it must have been lifted straight from the actual transcripts of the inquiry. Worth a watch if you are a Titanic fan, but, don't expect too much. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Anne G I enjoyed the movie, a different part of the titanic story, the aftermath, with some great flashbacks.
