Madam D Dec 8 Despite having to watch with subtitles, this was a good flick. The comedy was sometimes a little too idiotic, but mostly it made me laugh in all the right places. Don Lee plays a terrific husband & a hard nose fighter. I've seen many of his films & intend to see more. See more Sarfaraz A Apr 8 The cast includes Ma Dong-seok, Son Ji-hyo, Kim Min-jae, Park Ji-hwan, and others. Ma Dong-seok is a fish vendor who loves his wife. One day, she is abducted after leaving him at a restaurant. After receiving no news from authorities for two days, Ma Dong-seok takes matters into his own hands and begins locating the abductors. It is revealed that Ma Dong-seok was formerly a mobster who abandoned his dark past to live a sober and honest life for the love of his life. We've seen and heard similar stories before, and each one provides unique enjoyment. Though the film contains no high-intensity violence and the protagonist does everything possible to avoid killing the bad guys, this may imply that Ma Dong-seok does not want to return to his old path except to defend his wife, himself, and friends. This film is much less intense then pretty much every korean movie I've ever seen. It definitely was aware that it would be seen by an international market, for better or for worst. It seems to almost follow more american tropes than Korean but is well done. The plot is engaging but has no real heart at the basis. There were some plot points that didn't play out perfectly, but the action and comedy were both spot on and enough to carry the some what weak plot. This seems like the action movie to show to an american who hates "foreign" movies, if you were trying to get said American into Korean action movies.
