Will Dukes Rolling Stone Lil Baby is joyously basking in his moment. The hunger and persistence have paid off in a major way. Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby makes us feel thrilled to witness his unbelievable journey. Aug 30, 2022 Full Review Peyton Robinson RogerEbert.com Using Lil Baby’s story, this documentary not only enlightens us to his legacy as one of our generation’s biggest stars, but also dissects the rags to riches paradigm that outlines the genre and the culture of Black America that produces it. Rated: 3/4 Aug 26, 2022 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Within a familiar rags-to-riches trajectory, this documentary provides moments of insight and inspiration. Aug 31, 2022 Full Review Paul Attard In Review Online Considering all he’s come from, there’s never a doubt as to whether he deserves what he’s gotten. But Untrapped frustratingly isn’t interested in probing the artist much beyond that easy narrative. Aug 30, 2022 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider ... Paula D This documentary is the true life of an artist who came up through the struggles of systemic racism, targeting, a "system set up" for decades by the government. The pain, the joys and the love of grind to succeed no matter what is thrown at you !! Lil Baby not only is a true artist but also hits the most important issue facing this country - TARGETED RACISM - he exposes the corruption but also takes actions in the dismantling of racism and hate through giving back to those being oppressed , silenced by a corrupt judiciary system that is cycling.
