Audience Member Quite witty. I enjoyed the first ten minutes more than the subsequent hour, though. It's that deadpan black humour and it lacks a a few hooks and spikes to keep it lively. Some nice satire on institutional drabness and bureaucracy. The afterlife is very similar to life under communism, it seems. A slightly illogical and flat ending, too. Rated: 2/5 Nov 16, 2012 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard It's thoroughly original, which nowadays counts for a lot. Rated: 3/5 Nov 16, 2012 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Salim's film is good-looking and proficient; but there is not quite enough here to sustain interest. Rated: 2/5 Nov 15, 2012 Full Review M. Faust ArtVoice One of the best Scottish comedies since the heyday of Bill Forsyth. Oct 25, 2013 Full Review Scotsman Zam Salim's wry, dry dramedy envisions purgatory as a grindingly slow bureaucracy. Rated: 4/5 Nov 25, 2012 Full Review Paul Gallagher The List It is no surprise to learn that this is an expanded version of a short film, as it ultimately feels like a simple, solid idea that's been stretched thin.
